Career & Technical Education

Students in SLCC Career and Technical Education (CTE) programs are highly recruited by business and industry. Job placement for graduates of the most common CTE programs are consistently well over 90 percent. In fact, many are hired before they graduate and then complete their education at company expense.

Fore some 8,000 students, the CTE educational process actually begins in high school through our concurrent enrollment programs with more than 30 local high schools. Concurrent enrollment allows students to earn high school and college credit at the same time, speeding their entry into the workforce.

For CTE graduates, the educational process continues long after they begin working in their chosen field. Many return to SLCC for re-certification or continuing education. Students completing a two-year degree at SLCC can go on to earn a Bachelor of Science Degree (BS) through our articulation agreements with Utah’s four-year colleges and universities, some of which teach programs on our campuses through the SLCC University Center.
