
The number of vehicles powered by natural gas is growing every year and so is the demand for CNG technicians trained to install, maintain and inspect Alternative Fuel Vehicles. Whether you're already a mechanic and want to be among the few professionals learning about natural gas vehicle conversions and CNG cylinder tank inspections or an individual interested in converting your own vehicle, we've got classes for you. SLCC is a National Training Center for NAFTC (National Alternative Fuel Training Consortium) and instructor, Mike Millet, is NAFTC certified.

| Students will learn kit installation from start to finish, including how to understand and work with new technology to deal with the gaseous fuel system, engine, electronics, and exhaust. You'll pick up the tricks of the trade and learn about the tools needed. Students will attend class sessions and will have lab and field work as well. You will learn how to safely convert gasoline powered vehicles into dedicated light duty natural gas vehicles or duel fuel powered vehicles. | |||

| CNG vehicle cylinders should be inspected every three years or 36,000 miles. This hands-on course prepares students to perform required reporting procedures, determine and apply correct testing procedures, and visually inspect CNG cylinders for damage and deterioration. Students will be prepared to take the certification examination for CNG cylinder inspectors. *NOTE: The additional cost of $375 (payable to CSA America) will be added for the CSA Cylinder Inspections Test, date TBA. | |||
