Position Title:  Horizonte Project Mentor Starts 10-01-09

Special Qualifications:  
Knowledgeable about college support services such as tutoring, advising, health care, financial aid, student involvement, etc.; Understanding of the various hardships and obstacles low-income and first generation students face in balancing life, work, family and school; Have good oral and written communication skills; Willingness to seek out students, create a working relationships, and maintain contact with students assigned to him/her; and demonstrate a good sense of cultural sensitivity

Duties:  
Responsible for assisting in the development of college navigational workshops, interacting with project students, providing students referral services to various college and community resources, and completing tracking forms on all student contact and referrals.
