Welcome

During the 2009 Utah Legislative Session, House Bill 15 established the School of Applied Technology at Salt Lake Community College.  Beginning on July 1, 2009, the Salt Lake Skills Center and the Salt Lake County portion of the Salt Lake/Tooele Applied Technology College will continue as SLCC's School of Applied Technology.  This consolidation adds additional sites and programs to better accommodate the needs of students and employers within the Salt Lake Valley.  The offerings available as a result of the consolidation are described on this web site.  During the 2009-2010 transition year, programs may change.  For the most current information, please call (801) 957-3354.

The School of Applied Technology serves many students who vary in age, backgrounds, interests, and vocational plans.  We employ a wide variety of methods and materials to do so, always with the same goal in mind:  Your Success!

School of Applied Technology programs offer:

  • Short-term, open-entry/open-exit career and technical training.
  • Enrollment on a weekly or modular-entry basis.
  • Individualized and hands-on instruction from caring and competent professionals.
  • Assessment services to help determine meaningful training and employment decisions.
  • Assistance in obtaining employment upon program completion.

Rhonda's Story

The School of Applied Technology students all have their own unique story to tell about how it has helped shape their lives; i.e., accomplishments, difficulties endured while attending school, memorable experiences, how the programs helped improve career and job goals, etc.

We'd like you to share your story or nominate a student.

Each story will be preserved in a special scrapbook along with possible usage on a bulletin board, web site, in a newsletter, catalog, or other promotional materials.  We'd also love to include your photograph.
